Q: How could my child possibly have ADHD if he can sit and play with his legos or videogames for hours?

A:  I hear this question a lot.  Children can hyperfocus when they are doing something of interest to them.  ADHD is not whether a child can attend when they are doing something they like.  ADHD is whether a child can attend when they are doing something that is less interesting to them or requires effort.
